The13-0votelastTuesdaycomesweeksafterPresident-electDonaldTrump’sballot-boxvictoryandinthesameyearthatdozensofillegalimmigrantswerepickedupbyU.S.ImmigrationandCustomsEnforcement’s(ICE)EnforcementandRemovalOperations(ERO)officersintheL.A.metroareaformurder,homicideandassaultagainstchildren.
Sofarthisyear,LosAngelesEROhasarrested1,263illegalimmigrantsinthemetroareasofarthisyear, and715ofthemhadcriminalconvictions,accordingtoICEdata.Theagencygathered19,726noncitizensbetween2021and2024, and7,255ofthem,about36%,hadpriorcriminalconvictions.
