CONCORD,N.H.–Thenation’snewestgovernoriscomingoutofthestartinggatebyproposinganewgovernmentefficiencycommissionthatseemstobemodeled,toadegree,onasimilarnationaleffortbyPresident-electTrump.
RepublicanGov.KellyAyotteofswingstateNewHampshire,inherinauguraladdressonThursdayasshesucceededlongtimeGOPGov.ChrisSununu,pointedtothestate’sbudgetchallengesaheadduetothedryingupoffederalCOVIDrelieffundingforthestatesandadownturninbusinessrevenues.
“Wearegoingtohavetolooktofindbetterwaystodothingswithfewerdollars,”Ayottesaid.
Thenewgovernorthensaid,“BecauseIknownothingisharderthangettingpoliticianstonotspendmoney,todayIamannouncingthecreationoftheCommissiononGovernmentEfficiency,orasIliketocallit–the‘COGE.’”
