ThejointwarningfromthecitiesofAzusa,Irwindale,BaldwinPark,andDuartecomesasthesiteinLarioParkreportedlybeganacceptingdebrisonMonday.It’sexpectedtoreceivelithiumelectricvehiclebatteriesandother“hazardoushouseholddebris,”withtheEPAhandlingalltransportation,processingandcontainmentatthelocation,theysay.
“WhiletheCitiesarecompletelyinsolidaritywithourneighboringcommunities,weareextremelydisappointedwiththelackofrespecttoourlocalresidentsfornotbeingnotifiedoftheEPA’sclean-upeffortsandhavingtoxicmaterialstransportedtoourbackyards,”thecitiessaidinajointstatement.“
