The Senate just handed President Trump a major win and, more importantly, handed the American people something they have been demanding for years: action.
Markwayne Mullin is officially confirmed as Secretary of Homeland Security in a 54-45 vote, stepping in to lead the department at a moment when immigration enforcement is not just a policy priority but the priority. Replacing Kristi Noem, Mullin now has the authority and the responsibility to execute on what Trump voters were promised.
Let’s be clear. This is great news. But confirmations don’t fix the border. Enforcement does.
MAGA voters did not show up in record numbers for more hearings, more speeches, or more “long-term strategies.” They showed up for results. They want deportations. They want illegal immigration brought under control. And they want it now.
Mullin is walking into a tough situation. DHS is dealing with internal strain, a shutdown, and a workforce under pressure. But none of that changes the urgency of the mission. If anything, it makes it more critical that leadership moves fast and decisively.
To his credit, Mullin has said he is not afraid of the challenge. Good. Because the challenge is massive. The American people are watching, and patience is not unlimited.
The bottom line is simple: this appointment only matters if it delivers.
The mandate is already there. Ramp up deportations. Enforce the law. Restore order.
That is what MAGA wants. And that is exactly what needs to happen.
